CBS Sunday Morning, Hosted By Charles Osgood, Stan Lee Media Studio Debuts with 7th Portal, February 2000

American cultural Icon, and father of the modern Super Hero, Stan Lee established Stan Lee Media Inc in 1998 as his new Super Hero creation, production and internet animation studio in Hollywood.

The collaboration between Stan Lee, his partner and his new team of artists resulted in the creation of Stan Lee's first new Super Hero team since the X-Men, and the first Super Hero team to be composed of representatives of the principal countries and cultures on each continent. The 7th Portal was born.

Throughout his stellar, 60 year career of creating the world's most beloved Super Heroes, including Spider Man, Incredible Hulk, Ironman, Fantastic Four and X-Men, Stan Lee always depended on Manhattan to be the birth place and residence of his creations.

After understanding that the internet offered a cost effective medium to reach a global audience all at the same time, Stan recognized the opportunity to create a Super Hero team that was spread around the key cities of the world, yet connected at all times by the world wide web.

One of the suggestions Lee fully embraced was to make the American Super Hero a Native American. For the first time in the history of publishing and Hollywood, a Native American became a principal Super Hero representing all American youth and popular culture.
